An elegantly cooked chicken in your wedding reception food with any vegetarian or seafood dish as an alternative will be good. Or you can have beef or mutton but it would be more expensive than seafood and poultry.

People think that buffets are less costly than served meals, but reality is, buffet requires more extra food with extra labor so the cost basically goes higher. But this will not be the case if you have arranged a hall for your wedding reception, the reception halls are specialized in buffet. You can also go for other things besides chicken and mutton; chefs can make a lot of different verity of other tasty dishes with pasta which would be reasonable.

Whenever possible order in bulk yourself to obtain discounts. And if you have people in the food industry from where you can avail discount then let your caterer know that you can get some items in reduced price. There is no need to offer too many choices. Keep things simple and generally accepted, keep quality food with good taste. Everybody knows that they have not come in a restaurant to choose from a big menu.

Keeping the food options not that big are easily handled and managed by the chefs. To prepare different verities of one dish rather than making five different dishes with different ingredients increases preparation time.

People also these days include the menu items by asking guests. To select the items from chicken, vegetarian, beef, mutton or seafood, send the menu list with the invitation card with the option of starter and dessert and ask guests to return it with the RSVP. This is a suitable way which gives guests the feel of being important and of high level reception.

You can also plan your wedding reception food as on what time of the day you have invited guests. If you are scheduling your wedding early in the morning to take advantage of brunch wedding reception, to prevent your guests feeling that they have got the small part of the stick, consider different slices from various breakfast cuisines.

And if you have planned a noon wedding reception then the food must be heavier and lighter than what you will plan in breakfast and dinner. Pastas, salads, rice and snacks are running items in this type of event.

The presence of any kind of beverage counts a lot and if you can’t afford the years old wine than at least consider cocktails instead. It is always smart to use the power of imagination to venture towards something memorable and contemporary for your wedding reception food.
